Alain Robbe-Grillet, a French writer, used to be a botanist. He starts his literary writing, because he believes that science is always in the movement, and its rigor includes blankness. To him, nothing is fixed, no matter it is human, the world or science. What a novelist can do is to reshape human and the world, for in the free life, we are the builders of the world all the time. “Freedom” is a power of destruction and construction. Literary writing is a place to reveal such “freedom”. (Journal of Cross Culture Study,Vol.37,2017)
