It has been constantly discussed that what is the position of the intellectuals in the research and writing of the folk literature and art during the historical progress of the theoretical construction of socialist ideology ,and folkloristics which has been focused on the research and collection of folk literature and arts during the movement of “learning from Soviet Union ” in the 1950th .The main point of the discussion is how the intellectuals develop in the socialist domain of politics, culture, academia and education, what are their functions in the transmission and development of Chinese traditional culture. There are also related issues, for example, how to evaluate the mass collection of folk literature and arts’ works. Can it be viewed as a scientific socialist movement or a means to respect the natural development of the national culture, or an advantageous way to embody the compatibility of socialist ideology and the promotion of cultural diversity?
